Horizon Drive Construction

No Traffic Delays Expected

Although no traffic delays are expected, airport travelers should give themselves a little extra time to get to the airport due to several construction projects scheduled for the Horizon Drive corridor.

An old sewer pipe under Horizon Drive will be replaced beginning Tuesday, June 17 and is scheduled to be completed by early July. The segment being replaced is between Applebee's Restaurant and Stop-n-Save. Please be aware both southbound travel lanes of Horizon Drive will be closed and southbound traffic will be shifted into the center turn lane. Both northbound lanes will remain open. Construction is planned to operate from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on weekdays. Once completed Ute Water will replace an aging waterline from G Road to the Stop-n-Save gas station.

What Our Flyers Say

I have flown out of LAX, PDX and Ohare. I have flown out of Mesa AZ, Montrose. But the Walker field is the bomb, Ooops. Can't say bomb. I love this airport for its convenience and hometown feel. The staff here are a friendly bunch, Unlike larger airports where everybody is grumpy, mean and nasty.
